I’m actually having a baby!!!

Having just finished putting together this gorgeous cot, ready for Rex, I have had a stark, sudden realisation… I am actually having a baby!

I obviously do know that I am having a baby but until tonight the realism and extent of what I am actually about to embark on is more apparent than the shambolic English weather. In a matter of weeks a small baby will be keeping me awake, covering me in sick, I’ll be knee deep in poo and life will have changed forever. Why have I not realised this before? Is this normal?

Right, I’m gonna have to stop and go and pour myself a large glass of smokey single malt…

Dude, with you entirely, I had that feeling much earlier though!
We drove home from the 20 week scan, finding out we having a boy and I sat in the roadworks on the M5 and it hit me I was going to be a dad.
Cannot understand why these thoughts never appeared in the first months!!

That’s a relief…there’s more people like me! Thanks for your comment.

I’m with you on this too – my little one just hit 6 months; I still sometimes can’t believe I’m a dad. Think it first really hit me when we renovated the back bedroom – knocking down walls to create a nice square nursery. Fantastic feeling, though. Best there is!

Thanks for your comment. There is definitely something about getting the nursery decorated and filled that brings it on eh!
