Whoa Oah, we’re half way there…
My apologies for the shameful and tenuous Bon Jovi link, but being an active Bon Jovi fan, I feel it only appropriate and right to squeeze him into the blog somewhere.
We’re halfway through the pregnancy. Week 20. It’s gone remarkably quickly, yet frustratingly slow and I think that as I look back over the 20 weeks, all in all, I’ve enjoyed it.
I remember the 3 am pregnancy test, the moment when we wearily checked to see if it was positive and the deep embrace as we hugged in joy. As far as 3 am moments go, this was by far the best ever.
I remember the first time the wife’s tummy started to pop and we couldn’t keep it a secret any longer. We told the loved ones and began to get excited.
I remember the bi weekly scans and the anxiety surrounding them, fearful that what had previously happened might occur again. Thankfully, each scan only held good news and the boys heartbeat is stronger than MJ’s Thriller album!
I remember the constant headache that the wife had. Excruciating pain that wouldn’t ease for anyone or anything and maintained it’s prominent position for a good 10 of the 20 weeks.
I remember the first maternity shopping outing…
I remember finding out that he is ‘probably’ a boy. http://tdn.fomos.co.uk/2014/02/boy-or-girl.html
I remember the sick feelings and being utterly helpless to make it any better.
And if the next 20 are even half as good, I’ll be doing alright. I’m looking forward to the rest of the pregnancy. The wife is glowing and very attractive and I’m loving the bump. We have our 20 week scan tomorrow, which is marking the halfway point. No doubt, I’ll blog about what occurs!
Thank you Jen for a truly wonderful first half of pregnancy. Keep it up… ;)
